Textile Roofs 2012 is hosted by the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science of the Institute of Technolgy Berlin. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Neitzel - the head of the chair of Geodesy and Adjustment Theory - welcomes the participants of Textile Roofs 2012.

The workshop will start on Monday, 14th of May For those who arrive earlier in Berlin an icebreaker party is organized on 13th of May which is Sunday evening at the Technische Universität Berlin.

In addition to a comprehensive programme of lectures presented in English by key figures from the membrane structure industry and academia, opportunity for the study and hands-on development of practical case-studies in an informal tutorial environment is provided.

During the afternoons the hands-on workshop ran with opportunities for both physical and computational modelling under the guidance of the workshop team. Each participant will work with advanced and High-End Software products.

In parallel to this one joint project about the roofing of one of the Geodätenstand platforms will be discussed with the participants in the afternoons. On the afternoon of the last workshop day (16th May) this roofing will be presented by the students of the Textile Roofs 2012 students working week during a parting drink.

On Monday evening a special guest lecture will be presented by Wolfgang Rudorf-Witrin from CENO TEC GmbH, Greven, Germany

The workshop banquet takes place on Tuesday evening after a sightseeing trip by tourboat.
